Financial literacy is an essential life skill that many students lack upon graduation, leading to challenges in managing debt, budgeting, saving for retirement, and making sound investment decisions. BUSN494: Personal Finance and Investment (Senior Seminar) is designed as a capstone course that bridges the gap between theoretical finance knowledge and practical financial decision-making.
This course will provide students with a hands-on approach to personal financial management and investment analysis. Topics will include budgeting, credit management, debt reduction, retirement planning, and a deep dive into investment strategies for stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative assets. Through case studies, financial modeling exercises, investment simulations, and behavioral finance applications, students will learn how to evaluate investment opportunities, manage risk, and develop long-term financial security.
